Based on the invitation extended to the Securities Commission by the Iraqi National Team for Women, the activities of the specialized training course entitled “Climate Change and Sustainable Engineering Solutions” were launched at Ashur University, under the patronage of the University President, Professor Dr. Kazem Aboud Al-Majidi, and in cooperation with the Higher Council for Women’s Affairs / Iraqi National Team for Women – Climate Change and Environment Portfolio, and Al-Naqaa Association for Environmental Protection.
The course was attended by a representative of the Securities Commission, Ms. Hanan Fares Ali, Head of the Women’s Rights and Community Development Division and member of the Iraqi National Team for Women – Climate Change and Environment Portfolio.
The first and second days included scientific lectures delivered by a number of academics and members of the National Team, focusing on current climate challenges and their implications for engineering projects, as well as presenting sustainable solutions aligned with global environmental developments, with the participation of a distinguished group of specialists in the fields of engineering, energy, and digital transformation.
The course witnessed notable academic, professional, and student attendance, affirming the University’s role in supporting scientific initiatives aimed at enhancing environmental awareness and encouraging the adoption of sustainable engineering solutions, thereby contributing to addressing climate change and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
